The Moto G Power 5G 2025 covers the basics well for a sub 200 unlocked phone, with 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, 5G, microSD support, a headphone jack, wireless charging, and a bright LCD that works outdoors. It is also a bit larger than many Samsung and Moto G phones, with strong volume and solid battery features. The main knocks are the slower MediaTek processor, no OLED, and only 1080p video. Update support and price also draw concern, so it feels most appealing if those tradeoffs are acceptable.
Common Questions (5)
The Stylus models are repeatedly positioned as the better buy because they add a stylus, and the 2025 Stylus is reported to have an OLED screen, 8GB RAM, and wireless charging. The G Power 2025 is seen as similar on core specs, but with an LCD display and a slower processor than the 2024 version.
No. The Moto G Power 5G (2025) is described as using an LCD panel, not OLED. It is still reported to be bright enough for outdoor use, but it does not have the deeper contrast of OLED.
Motorola is reported to provide 3 years of security updates, so the 2024 model can become a security concern around mid-2027. Even after security updates end, the phone can still be used for years, and updates are said to keep app, software, browser, and carrier support current.
Yes. It is reported to support wireless charging, and the battery protect feature can cap charging at 80% to help preserve battery health. That makes it useful as a backup or everyday phone if you want midrange-style charging convenience.
No, this listing is reported not to work with Verizon. That makes carrier compatibility an important check before buying.

Might be better off with the Stylus 2024, pretty much the same specs as the G Power 2025 but you can get it for $179 at 128GB or $199 for 256GB. And it does have a stylus.
