I saw that $1149.00 price error pop up on Amazon and did the classic SD "Buy now, think about it later". What an incredible deal which, at the time was $550 off retail, now with Apple's +$200 price jump our laptops cost $1999 retail! And to think I was waiting to have a look at their Back to School deals haha..
However, with the 10-50% increases on almost every product line Apple offers, my Apple Balance took quite a value hit as I had $1800 in there after trading-in my M4 MBA. I've using Apple because it's easy no BS like Craigslist, eBay, FB Marketplace etc. and after eBay's insane fees, Apple's trade-in program is almost comparable (plus I get to keep my chargers and cords and Apple Watch bands when I use them). I'm liquidating the whole account on an iPhone upgrade now (since that didn't get a massive price increase yet) and letting the rest sit there to pay for Apple One and AppleCare over the newt two years. Guess it's back to eBay BS to fund my upgrades.. unless Apple vastly increases their trade-in prices to match retail (they won't lol).
Anyone thinking of upgrading anything Apple now should pull the trigger on any remaining deals and then hold. I'm hunkered down for at least 3 years now. The struggle of trying to buy 3x Gen3 AppleTV 4Ks w/ Thread to upgrade my 2x HDs and Thread-less Gen3 was ridiculous as of course people are buying them up at $149 at Walmart and scalping them on the internet. Apple raised the price on that thing $100, from $149 to $249! A flipping 67% price increase! More expensive than an Nvidia Shield lol. At this point, I'll use these until they die because I don't need AI on my streaming box anyhow lol.
