Just got a text about my plan being retired and price per line going up.
I chatted with a rep and they were telling me all the enchantments I'll be getting even though it sounded like it is all the same stuff I was getting before.
Just a post for your thoughts and a heads up if you didn't get a notice.
Should start July 13.

I received a text a few minutes ago:
"Starting 7/13/26, your current phone plan is being retired, and you will transition to a modern plan with enhanced features. Phone lines increase up to $6 per line per month.

Rest assured, you'll keep your current benefits, plus we're adding more benefits and improved service experiences..."

I have the "Select Choice FAM UNL TT 50" plan

Edit: adding Reddit [reddit.com] links...looks like neither customer care [reddit.com] nor in-store reps [reddit.com] knew what was happening or how to fully help customers (yet)

I thought they tried this before and then backed down. I've been on this same plan for 15+ years. All my phones are paid off and ATT said they could match my rate so I guess I'll be moving on over.

They raise my price last year by five bucks a line and now by doing this it looks like they're also getting rid of Kickback which makes this plan worthless. I guess it's time to start shopping after all these years at an mvno for three lines force me off of a nine line plan

I have an old One Plan Amplified. Price was guaranteed for life including the discount from the company I work for. Then it went up last year for every line. Now this. I checked with T-Mobile and they claim our free lines will stay free. We shall see.

T-Mobile Legacy Plan Changes (Effective 7/13)
  • Phone lines: +$6 / line
  • Home Internet lines: +$6 / line
  • Tablets & Wearables: +$3 / line
  • KickBack Discount: Completely eliminated
Only two specific groups of legacy customers are completely immune to these price increases:
Simple Choice Era: Legacy customers on a limited data Simple Choice plan established before January 2017.
The "Price Lock" Window: Customers who activated their plans for Go5G, Go5G+, Go5G Next, or Magenta/Magenta Max between April 28, 2022, and January 17, 2024.
  • Note: This includes any existing customer who upgraded to Go5G, Go5G+, or Go5G Next during this specific timeframe, regardless of how old their original T-Mobile account is.

If your plan or activation date falls outside of the windows above, you have two choices:
  • Accept the Hike: Pay the new increased monthly rates starting July 13th.
  • Cancel & Leave: Switch carriers and have T-Mobile pay your final month's bill. However, be aware that any outstanding financed devices must still be paid off in full upon cancellation.

Thanks for this
Regretting my decision to move from SC to One in 2016 to take advantage of some stupid Pixel promotion back then.
I just got a text, so far it only says about removing the Kickback promo, that itself is a $20 increase for my plan, TMobile should burn in hell

They sold me a new line in last Sept end claiming it would be free and then gaslighted me for months. Finally cancled the line and they didnt even credit me completely

This is crazy. I pay $35 per line on average for 5 lines. $6 increase per line is a 17% increase!!!

The same thing happened to me regarding the so-called free line. They added a ~$10 data plan without my consent, and it took several calls to sort it out before I finally told them to simply cancel the line, as I wasn't going to pay even the tax on a line without data that would purely serve as a backup. I posted my experience on the thread from last Sep: https://slickdeals.net/f/18623884-t-mobile-free-new-line?sort=oldest&page=7&src=SDSearchv3&attrsrc=T...
