Community Reviews

The LG OLED evo M3 stands out as a premium 77 inch OLED with picture quality that tracks closely with LG's G series, while the wireless box keeps the TV itself free of HDMI clutter. The panel is described as essentially G3 level, with the same basic image performance and only small brightness differences versus newer G models. The wireless setup works well when the box has a clear line of sight to the screen, but it can drop signal if something blocks it, and the box approach is not perfect. A strong fit if the cable free setup matters and the wireless link stays unobstructed.

Common Questions (3)

  • The M3 is described as having basically the same picture quality as the G3, and it is also said to share the same panel as the G5. The practical difference discussed is the wireless-box setup rather than a major picture-quality gap.

  • Yes. The M3 uses a separate wireless box where you plug in your devices, and it transmits the signal to the TV so you do not need multiple HDMI cables at the panel. The tradeoff is that the box needs a clear line of sight to the TV.

  • The M3 is positioned as a premium, G-class OLED with the convenience of a wireless input box, making it attractive if you want a cleaner setup. The downside is that the wireless link can drop if something blocks the line of sight, so it is best for an unobstructed TV placement.

B is the entry level, lowest tier and lower brightness. C is the "good" in-between (good quality, good price), brighter than the B, usually a better stand, better screen. G is the premium version that is wall-mountable to sit flush, highest quality and highest brightness. M is comparable to G, but uses a wireless box that you plug everything into and it transmits to the TV, so you don't have a bunch of HDMI cables.

The M3 has basically the same picture quality as a G3. According to rtings.com the G3 and C5 perform very similarly to each other with the G3 being a tad brighter in HDR and the C5 being a bit brighter in SDR.

It works surprisingly well, you just need a clear line of sight. If someone stands in front of it, you lose the signal.

Is there increased input lag due to the wireless input box?

do you mean G5?..or are you truly talking about the few years old G3

Here is what rtings says about the G5 versus the C5
There is no condition where the C5 is brighter than the G5

The LG G5 OLED is better than the LG C5 OLED. The G5 is brighter in SDR and has superior reflection handling, making it more suitable for very bright rooms. The G5 has better HDR brightness and color volume, delivering a more impactful HDR experience, although the C5 is no slouch with that. The G5 also has a slightly better upscaling and supports 165Hz, making it a bit more versatile.

They are talking about the G3. Read their comment again. They are talking about the G3 because this post is about the M3, and the M3 and the G3 share the same panel.

Yes

the M3 shares the same panel with the G5

I dont think the G3 ( a 2023 model) was any part of the conversation

If this is similar to a G5, it's a heck of a deal. If it's similar to a G3, then it's meh and I would probably prefer a c5.

No clue what that guy with zero reading comprehension was saying, but no shot this is Primary Tandem RGB OLED panel that was INTRODUCED FIRST in the G4, a whole year after this M3 came out. It's a G3... with the wireless box.
