At this point you are probably better off finding a bunch of cheap used v3 cams and installing Thingino on them.

I almost ordered another, then found I already had 2 unopened, plus a couple other cams. Though mine are the pre late 2025 update model. The new late 2025/2026 OG update model is nicer. They didn't change the OG name, just made several improvements, which you can Google, or find on the Wyze web site somewhere.

Looks like the updated version is very slightly smaller and has a wider and better field of view.

Larger: Same size as V3/V4 now, uses a standard 1/4-20 mount, moved the SD card slot to the side, removed the pigtail power wire. Other performance improvements per users. I have one new one, but haven't done a performance comparison.

2025 version in the tech specs on their website most be the newer version then. So it is slightly larger, heavier but has a WORSE field of view than the original OG... Kinda glad that I have an older version of it based on the FOV part alone.

Asking the real questions. If you can't control it via iSpy or equivalent, what are you even doing?

Isn't the v3 $10 more with better features? Also, these cameras have many paywalled features you'll want like human detection and cloud recording. $30 per camera per year!

No, the V3 is older, slower, and has no spotlight built in (you can add one for extra). Also I have the unlimited $99 per year plan since I have around 20 cameras in use so far.

Of course that depends on what FOV you prefer. Wider FOV means lower detail, so it's a tradeoff. What are the FOV's of the old and new OGs, out of curiosity?

116° (DFOV), 99.7° (HFOV), 53° (VFOV) for the 2nd generation vs 121.4°, 102.3° and 54.1° respectively for the 1st generation.

Interesting. Thanks. Do you know if Wyze has a chart of all their cams FOV? I have several different models.

I haven't seen a quick view chart comparing the FOV of their different cameras.

I can't deal with Wyze anymore. I've got 15 of their cameras over the past several years any only like 3 still work and those were recent purchases.
