hmm...yesterday bought the dell xps 13 open box excellent that is being delivered today here: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/d...J3K4L6J96Q

currently comparing it to this laptop. 16" touch is nice with a longer battery life panther lake cpu. But dell has 500 nit screen vs 350 nit on samsung (also sharper due to PPI), the premium cnc aluminum chasis with gorilla glass screen and thunderbolt 4. It also has 8 unlocked core lunar lake (1 yr older) with intel arc (i think 30% better gaming performance). I guess I am preferring portability and 2.4 pounds instead of 4+ lbs. I think samsung exagerrated the battery life. In real world use probably a 2-4 hrs extra battery life for the samsung.

This is new and dell is open box excellent for $476 after rewards back (best buy open box excellent usually has everything and in mint condition with manufacturer warranty starting on purchase date) but I do think dell has better QC than samsung. I read that samsung galaxy books have screen crack issues.

I wish i caught the galaxy book 5 pro with amoled touch and better chasis best buy open box deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/19658406-ymmv-open-box-samsung-galaxy-book5-pro-laptop-intel-core-ultra-7-256v-14-amoled-from-503-store-pickup-at-best-buy?v=1&src=SiteSearch

that is a better deal than this. What is better buy? the dell or this samsung?

Just wait for someone to ask for a dedicated RTX GPU for the $650 price... in the great NAND and RAM shortage of 2026. 😆

Just trying to help avoid confusion. It's really not that great of a EPP deal when you look at the prices of the same version from previous years. That version was typically a 15.6" screen.

If only we all had a time travel machine so we could go into the past and buy the machine back then. I think the reality is that in the landspace of computers in 2026, this is unfortunately, considered a pretty good deal for June of 2026. At least for those who need a new laptop.
Personally I picked one up because my Galaxy Book Pro 360 (first gen) has a quad core CPU 1165g7 that is quickly becoming a bottleneck for me. So for now I will pick this up to hold me over as my ultraportable personal laptop that I throw in my work bag alongside my work issued laptop when I travel. Replacing my original galaxy book with its "comparable" Galaxy Book 360 model in todays money would mean I would need to spend over $2000... not going to do that.

Best bet is roll of dice on best buy open box. The galaxy book 5 pro was $500+ a few days ago. So was dell xps 13 with shipping. Price is going up in computers

Why would they make a 16" laptop without a number pad?
I get that you like it. But most people rarely do use it. Be it has downsides.1) The numberpad shifts the alphabets away from the center of the screen and is less comfortable for my neck2) keys tend to be little smaller3) loss of space for heat dissipation, speakers, internals and rigidity4) look more cluttered (which I don't care about)
