Once in a while you might be able to find the SST40 version on sale for $10-$12. But this is the high CRI model with Nichia 519a LED.

This isn't a generic flashlight. Wurkkos is a name brand.

Get the Gold one; easier to find in the dark. Also, if you have those O-ring kits, attach correct O-ring that fits outer diameter of the power button; then you can feel in the dark where the power button is located. It also prevents any accidental activation while in your pocket.

I usually don't like paying more than $12 for these generic flashlights but I'll give this one a try.

Yes. And the 519A emitter is really nice color quality. The cheapo flashlights cause washed out colors and/or cast a green tint. This is a nice general use flashlight for $17.

I brought this same model back in December 2024 for $21.31 after discount and taxes.
I agree that buying the gold color would make it easier to find.
This model, like other similar ones would start to heat up after extended use on a brighter setting.

During Wurkkos' June sale on Aliexpress, I paid $8.78 + tax = $9.56 (after $x off $y multi-store coupon, 33% coins discount, new users also get some welcome bonus instead of coins) for my black WK03 SST40. Pre-discount price was $16.46 and the gold Nichia was only a few dimes more (definitely under $17) and eligible for the same discounts so it would've cost less than $10. My family already own three gold/BLF Nichia from 2024-2025 (from $19 down to $13.5) so I gave the SST40 a try. Curiously the SST40 is a bit more yellow than the Nichia and about the same brightness (Nichia has round spot and sharp cutoff while the SST40 has a smaller spot but bigger falloff) which is a disappointment as I was expecting a major boost from 1200lm to 1800lm. Maybe I should've gotten the 6000K SST40 as I'm not that picky with color temperature or CRI (I have 4500-5000K LED bulbs all over the house and "modern" T12, round T9, and Circline fluorescent tubes since the 80's).

Another thing I do is to remove the battery cap (if it's removable) and put food grade grease on the rubber o-ring for added water resistance.

Certainly looks like a Sofirn SP31 https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...93018.html

4 presses locks it out, though, which is really nice.
