Just FYI, unlike their 5 billion version, this is Lactobacillus acidophilus only (not a blend). If you're taking for general gut health, might want to look at a different product - this one is more specifically targeted for certain issues.

I take this stuff when traveling, especially internationally.

Been on many group tours where many fall ill to traveler's diarrhea, but I'm fine.

what kind of climate control does this need? cooking in a delivery truck all day and then cooking on a doorstep doesn't seem ideal.

For what it's worth, AI supports your claim:
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus (including La-14) has decent evidence for specific things: mild digestive regularity, sometimes helping with antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and general "gut comfort" in some people.
  • The claim that it will "balance your overall internal microbiome" or provide broad general-health benefits is marketing language, not something well-supported by research. Microbiome science is still fairly young — we don't have strong evidence that a single-strain daily probiotic meaningfully improves overall health in people without a specific digestive complaint.
  • 10 billion CFU is a fairly modest, standard dose — not particularly high compared to many probiotic products (some go into the tens of billions).
Who tends to benefit most
  • People with a specific digestive issue (occasional irregularity, recovering from antibiotics, mild bloating).
  • If you're already generally healthy with no GI complaints, the honest answer is probiotics probably won't do much noticeable for you — it's not harmful, just not likely to move the needle.

If you're serious about getting your probiotics in, just go for Kefir yogurt, has over 14 strains which is far more important than the total count.

I'd suggest reading up on this stuff, most of it is total BS and does nothing, like 90% of what's on the market. You have to know what to look for to actually find the stuff that can help. Check out places like reddit.com/r/Microbiome

Kefirlab Probiotic Kefir, 100 trillion CFU.This is the one I use, 16oz about $8, I mix it with half gallon A2 milk from Costco twice, one at room temperature at a time over 24 hours I go 36 hours with ratio 1:8 will give it close to or more than half the original strength some report more CFU because it's an aggressive mix, look for pockets from the whey, thick and tangy then strain but definitely as close to 36 hours

What about getting kefir cultures to keep it going?
