This GarveeHome 12,000 BTU mini split is a budget heat pump that stands out for strong cooling, quiet operation, and lower power use than window or portable units. Real-world installs describe easy DIY setup for handy owners, with precharged condenser refrigerant, preflared lines, and heating that can hold up well in cold weather. The main drawbacks are the lack of WiFi on this model, the need for vacuuming and careful electrical work, and some concern about shipping damage or early failures. It looks like a solid value if you are comfortable with the install.

  • Buyers who need built-in Wi-Fi or app-free control, because silent mode and power-limit settings are app-only and the app can be unreliable.

  • Homes that need a simple plug-in setup, because the unit may need dedicated wiring, breaker slots, and a proper disconnect.

  • First-time installers without hands-on experience, because drilling, line handling, and evacuation can go wrong and cause leaks or damage.

  • Shoppers prioritizing long-term reliability and easy service, because reports mention early failures, shipping damage, and inconsistent support.

I installed this nearly identical model a week ago. I wish I had an open end torque wrench. I used a torque wrench and added a crows foot. I didn't use it at 90 degrees and the added leverage was too much and I split my flair nuts in half. I replaced those and it's cooling now.

What are you guys referring to here, specifically? I see 115V clearly in the listing so can't identify why the confusion.
Sometimes they sent the wrong one because the boxes looked the same

Woot.com current offers some other 12k units right now:
Turbro 12k 115v $535
Turbro 12k 230v $455
Tosot 12k $560
These are probably the less efficient models. Turbo has the Finnmark model that is probably SEER 19 or lower. I bought the Turbro Greenland 12K, 220v, SEER 24, with 20% off about 500+, Turbro had these discounts last year, probably every year. Tosot is the DIY version of GREE, they probably have at least have replacement part availability than Turbo.

Just to let you know, Temu has already selling mini-splits with pre charged line sets, like Mr Cool.

Funny I did the same thing installing Pioneer mini-splits. I had to cut the copper line and reflare the end. I was worried I had made a mistake doing it myself but the Pioneer unit heated a garage apartment to 68 degrees F when it was -5 F outside. I had to stand under it and marvel that warm air was coming out when everything outside was frozen solid.

use an AI to search for DIY mini split that comes with 25ft, otherwise buy separate 25 ft line set and add the additional refrigerant

There is a equation on using torque wrench's when adding extensions and a crows foot, ai would have helped making adjustments.

If this thing requires a certified electrician to install, expect to dish out another $500 - $1000 for labor depending on how slow the guy works.

This unit has only 1 review on Amazon and it's negative. I will pay a little more and get something with at least a 1000+ positive reviews.

Vacuum pumps are free to rent at Autozone. Just pay the upfront price and receive refund upon return.

Buy the 410A adapter on Amazon or similar.
