I just installed a Garvee 18K unit myself two weeks ago. Works mint, blows ice cold. Just a FYI.

Functionally equivalent effort of installing 120V if you've done it before. Recommend sparky if you aren't confident though.

whats the difficulty lvl for first timer would you rated? plus any special tools required for the vacuum part or new model doesnt require that any more?

220v will require two breaker slots vs 1 with 110v.

You should not be plugging this into an outlet....

Anything but Mr. Cool requires you to have the HVAC tools, which will run you around $1k for everything. From what I've read up on, it's worth it if you're planning on doing a lot of installs. For a one off, it's a big investment (still cheaper than hiring someone), but it will run you around the same as a Mr. Cool and you'll just have a lot of tools sitting around afterwards. The big gotcha is that most of these companies don't offer warranties to DIY installs and most HVAC companies won't want to service them. Warranty coverage usually requires at least the line vacuum and refrigerant release to be done by someone who's licensed. I've heard of some people getting by it with an EPA 608 certification, but it's inconsistent.
