0.1 micron is fine enough to filter viruses, but you would need a charcoal filter to get chemicals, heavy metals, etc., out of the water. My concern is that this does not specify that it is 0.1 micron absolute size, which means it is probably 0.1 micron nominal. Basically it means the average pore is 0.1 micron, not the maximum pore size. So while probably safe, it's not as guaranteed to get all the microbes out of the water.
