Is there any reason to get this over the 9800 3dx? Im gaming at 8k with a 7900 xtx
For games you won't really benefit much with this over the 9800x3d. Where this shines is if you want flagship gaming and flagship multi threaded work loads all in 1. Tho the 9800x3d is very capable on its own already. Also there's no game out now worth playing on 8k. Just lower your setting bro, save your money.
This plus a 5080, worth it to upgrade vs my 5700x3d and the 5080?
In short, probably not worth it for most situations.
What resolution do you play at?
If 4k the actual change in fps may be 0 to 5 percent increase.
If 1440p a little more. 1080p is a little more significant.
I checked this article a 100 times when I was upgrading from a 5800x (non3d)
