I just ordered the Ultra 7 version for $502 (it dropped $30). The performance difference between the Ultra 7 and 9 is supposed to be relatively minor, and from reviews the Ultra 7 is considerably more efficient, cooler running, with better battery life. The Ultra 7 goes in and out of stock, just have to monitor the ebay listing if interested for availability.

I don't think I've ever bought a new laptop. Can't speak to this specific laptop, but claiming used laptops are crap is a pretty stupid take.

It is touchscreen:

That said, looks like you are getting 61% sRGB and 45% RGB and DCI-P3 with a max of 327 nits brightness, so it's going to look pretty crappy.

Excellent catch... wow what a steal at that price even with the subpar screen... I spent 890 on a vivobook flip 16 with a oled 2.8k touchscreen it was new though but still at this price rather have this model.

I bought the refurbished Ultra 7 version for my daughter back in April - no issues, looked brand new. My brother bought the same version last week - no issues. I probably just jinxed myself, but mine is coming in a couple of days. It will be folded up underneath a desk, driving 2-3 2k monitors 99% of the time so the screen isn't much of a concern to me. I may use it for software development/consulting as well.

The only used laptop I would even consider was refurbished by Apple themselves Acer is a B tier laptop company to begin with then make it refurbished by some random e-waste company maybe for $200 but that's all this is worth
This is sold by Acer on eBay. It is manufacturer refurbished and it comes with free 30 day return and a 2 year AllState warranty.

Carefully inspect the machine for defects and give the CPU and RAM a stress test, but you should do that with new machines anyway.

I bought an Acer Nitro gaming laptop from Acer via eBay, and it came well packaged and was in like new condition with only a handful of battery cycles.

I care mostly about the screen when I purchase any laptop.
How is the screen in this one?

It is out of stock now. I feel terrible about missing it. Is there any chance that the Ultra 7 deal might come back again? Thanks.

Decent nothing special but if you don't mind carrying around a portable screen for serious work... the specs on this thing are amazing for the price. The igpu on this is basically like a desktop 1060 level with a lot more vram and access to ai upscaling and frame gen.

I wasn't saying it to be snarky over the years I bought more than 50 laptops and I've tried every possible combination the only time really I've had good luck is buying from Apple and a store like Best Buy or Staples where when it does have a problem you can bring it back within 15 days with little to no trouble probably 30% of laptops have to go back because a lot of them just aren't designed well and you will not be satisfied with it to begin with factor in that somebody else already returned this and then it goes up exponentially
