Chromebooks are great for K-12 online schooling, or for a home use/personal all internet machine. If you're in the browser 100% of the time, you'll gain more performance by actually DISABLING the Google Play Store-- That will free up almost 1.20GB of RAM it reserves on most systems.
That being said, for value, I think HP is beat by Lenovo in most categories in similar form factors, or by Asus for cheaper, but giving up 2 in 1.
Also, if you need to use "Lockdown Browser" or something that isn't just a Chrome extension (Honorlock), then shop Windows OS.

Laptop prices went up because of memory prices. Meh, this is probably worth the sale price. Chromebooks better than Windows for most people Or the new lower price neo airbook apple whatever it's called in the more expensive price bracket. Simpler and more virus resistant than windows pc's. Or a tablet if that works for someone's needs.
