Royal Oak Super Size briquettes are a low-cost charcoal option that stands out for the large briquette size, long burn time, and strong value for smokers and long cooks. The deal can drop to about $2.93 per bag when three are added to cart, with free shipping or pickup in some cases, and the larger bags can stretch a year of use for some setups. The main drawbacks are that the briquettes can take longer to light, create a lot of ash, and arrive with broken pieces or packaging damage. A practical pick if you want cheap bulk charcoal and can handle the tradeoffs.
Common Questions (5)
Add 3 bags to the cart and the price drops to the promo total, with the per-bag price showing around $2.93. The deal can also require choosing the subscription option, though some accounts still see the 3-bag discount without subscribing.
The limit appears to be 8 bags per order. You can place separate orders to buy more, and one workaround used was splitting purchases into two orders with different subscription lengths.
The briquettes are described as larger than usual and useful for smokers because they pack more energy into the same space and can last a long time before turning to ash. They also work well for adding wood to the mix and for offset smokers needing steady heat during long smokes.
They can take a few minutes longer to get burning, and some bags are reported to produce more ash, burn dirty, or arrive broken up. Other uses still found them fine for grilling, but they may be less ideal for high-heat cooks like ribeye.
Free shipping is available on some orders, and store pickup is free. MyLowe's Rewards status can affect whether shipping is free, and some Pro accounts may not see the subscription option at all.
