The FIREBAT AM02 is a barebones Ryzen 7 H255 mini PC that looks strongest as a compact general rig, HTPC, or retro gaming box once RAM and storage are added. The 780M graphics are described as solid for emulation and light gaming, and the chip is treated as broadly similar to other 8745H class parts, with no NPU on the H255. The catch is the extra cost of DDR5 SODIMM memory and NVMe storage, which can push the real total much higher. Cooling also looks modest, with reports of warm sustained loads and a likely 45W limit, so it suits lighter use better than long heavy GPU work.

I would think this would make a very good HTPC? You can always find RAM and HD second hand. Just a thought.
Has any of these ever been caught on fire itself? Spontaneous combustion?
I plan on using this for proxmox and hate to have to power on/off constantly.
Please explain on "HOW" the US brands test and certify their products???
This is laptop components, you bring the RAM and M.2 drive. The question is... how is the quality of the motherboard and the answer is... it is not great. But there are TWO really AMAZING reasons to buy a mini pc.
1. ZERO BLOATWARE and you are suppose to reinstall the OS (will need at least 32GB thumb drive). You can not buy a laptop in the USA from a recognized brand name without bloatware.
2. PRICE... IMHO, the price is insane if it works and when it works... it usually works well.
Like EVERY Mini PC... you need to re install the OS the good news is the the OS is registered to the motherboard. Steps on how to re-install the OS... (must first grab two drivers from manufacturer... WLAN and BT)
1. Download the OS from microsoft and use RUFUS (use google to download) to make a thumbdrive of the OS... I do it so I don't have to log into microsoft
2. Install the OS
3. MUST install WLAN driver, after Wlan driver is installed, log into wifi and start updating microsoft
4. After microsoft has been updated (usually 3 or 4 times) THEN go to google and search "AMD driver software"
5. Install and run AMD Driver software app... this will install all the newest AMD drivers
6. Finally install BT driver... even though it will say it works, it did not for me until I DELETED THE DRIVERS AND reinstalled them directly Firebat. I used device manager to delete driver.
I installed an OS on a Acemagic as well and it needed the identical steps including reinstalling the BT drivers.
Once I upgarded my RAM from Samsung 2x8GB to Cursair 2x16GB the mini pc developed cold starts. The cold start thing did not bother me that much... from all the research I did, it came down to the new timing of the new RAM was not 100% compatible and it caused cold starts.
The system booted up extremely fast, was quiet, played deem games. It performed flawless besides me dealing with cold starts.
The issue I have with Mini PC is similar to laptops... heating and airflow. This mini PC will most likely suffer with heating and airflow... I would buy a laptop fan and use it when you game.
I never experienced a freeze or a slow down, even when I gamed. The machine really works well. I paid $232 in the day for my machine which had 2x8GB and 512GB and Windows Home. I have since sold my machine for $380 about six weeks ago with original equipment so there was no cold start issue.
The bios was one of the lightest bios I have ever seen, not too many options which I think is a good thing.
TDP i believe is limited to 45Watts (not the 54Watts that other may use). Think of it like this... every year VS a desk top you will save about $150ish... where I live it is more then $175 In electricity VS a full desk top with similar specs... so a GTX1050.
The PC is very attractive. I wasn't expecting it to look so good. The PC is made of plastic which I was expecting at this price point.
Duby: Thanks for the info about this PC. The driver tips should also come in handy. I'll try to gather them up when I make the Windows installer.
I think your concern about the cooling is going to be accurate. If anyone has any fixes, tweaks or mods to help the cooling please share. I might have some phase change material around but I have a feeling this issue will require a fan.
Edit: The cable from the power supply to the PC is a bit short. I've downloaded all their drivers from 4 down and Virustotal has not seen these files before. That's kind of a red flag. No detections from Virustotal (*note: the behavior scan wasn't working), Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro though.

And there is a VERY good chance that the mobo is already registered with Microsoft 11 Pro. Alot of manufacturers have taken out RAM and SSD's and have sold and now they are selling their bare bone system... this is why it may already be registered.
What I did was I upgraded it and sold it for more money and then I purchased a better system.

The first attempt at installing a rufus windows 11 install it defaulted to Windows 11 home. I had to stop the installation and add a text cfg file to the USB stick and then it defaulted to Windows 11 pro. Windows is complaining about activation so I assume this doesn't come with a license or it's for Windows 11 Home. I wonder if others are seeing the same thing.
Good idea about selling this mini pc so you could get a better one.
