The DeWalt construction jack is a handy low profile lift for solo DIY work, especially hanging doors, cabinets, gates, and furniture. It also gets used for leveling bookcases, lifting washers, radiators, and couches, and the extension pushes it up to 27 inches. The main limits are the 250 pound lift rating and a footprint that can be too small for bulky jobs. Pricing and stock vary a lot by store, with some orders cancelled or pickup systems glitching, so availability is the biggest wildcard.

  • People needing to lift very heavy or wide loads, because the 250-pound rating and narrow footprint are too limited for bulky jobs.

  • Shoppers expecting a universal pry bar replacement, because it cannot replace stepping on the jack to lift.

  • People who only need an occasional cabinet helper, because its practical use can feel limited outside hanging cabinets.

Bought a set of cheap ones on Amazon and haven't used them in the year I've had em. Just not enough weight capacity for anything heavy or wide enough footprint for anything unwieldy. What I need to lift currently is a 40 ft container, but these things are juuust shy of 8800 lbs. Got a 100 lb heavy bag to move, but these are unusable for that as well, I'll just have to sling it.
I've built little frames to hold stuff better or something vertical if height was an issue. I got the new extension this week too. Goes up to 27" with that.

I'm actually shocked how many times I've used both of mine. These low profile jacks are really helpful in so many different situations, especially if you're working alone.

Got two the last time but still haven't used them. Not sure the practical use outside of hanging cabinets lol. When you need it you will wish u have it..
I use them for lots of things. You can build jigs to make them more functional. For upper cabinets I screw them to a bigger base and have a platform they lift that the cabinet sits on. I actually find these more useful than the other cabinet jacks I have.

FWIW, there is a Husky version, very basic for casual user for $35. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky.../339368946
Not near as good though. Even the OG Viking ones don't hold a candle to the Dewalt ones.

While these don't fit your weight needs. I have used mine to lift my 300lbs of plate stacked weights to get it onto a dolly to move a weight machine. Lifted it like it was not even there.

Hanging doors, moving furniture, putting in undermount kitchen sinks, pulling fence away from brick to mask when staining, straightening deck boards before shooting in screws, raising low drywall, help hooking in sectional couches, prying in woodworking I've used mine to help get off the wood on garage doors when replacing, was just gentle to not damage metal.

I've used them to level bookcases, lift cast iron radiators to get them on a wheeled dolly, and made a makeshift tripod with a 2x2 strapped to it to make minute adjustments on a laser level.

Tractor Supply just cancelled my order and the stores around me that had them discounted are now showing regular price. Has anyone actually picked one of these up for a discount?
I just got one for $21.99 but when first scanned it showed $88.99 price. I've mentioned w discount, the gout scanned it with a mobile device they had and it showed the $21.99 price. I wish they had more than one in stock.

The tractor supply website said that there were none available in my area. But when I was in the store this morning I saw one in the clearance section. It was marked $99, but it rang up at $32.99. Too bad they didn't have more. I also bought some leather belts for a dollar each.
