The DeWalt construction jack is a handy low profile lift for solo DIY work, especially hanging doors, cabinets, gates, and furniture. It also gets used for leveling bookcases, lifting washers, radiators, and couches, and the extension pushes it up to 27 inches. The main limits are the 250 pound lift rating and a footprint that can be too small for bulky jobs. Pricing and stock vary a lot by store, with some orders cancelled or pickup systems glitching, so availability is the biggest wildcard.

Got two the last time but still haven't used them. Not sure the practical use outside of hanging cabinets lol. When you need it you will wish u have it..
I have a loose gate that I need to lift to get the latch in after one of the rare times it's open. I used it my garage cabinets to adjust the feet to leveI. I used it to install rubber bottom feet on my couch to prevent slipping. I used it again on a heavy leather couch to lift it high enough to get the nozzle of a green machine underneath after he spilled his shake and it went underneath the couch... It's pretty handy

Bought a set of cheap ones on Amazon and haven't used them in the year I've had em. Just not enough weight capacity for anything heavy or wide enough footprint for anything unwieldy. What I need to lift currently is a 40 ft container, but these things are juuust shy of 8800 lbs. Got a 100 lb heavy bag to move, but these are unusable for that as well, I'll just have to sling it.

Had one like it for 20 some years. But when I needed it…

All my life, I have not needed this even once, yet!
I use it all the time. For hanging fence gates, windows, doors, literally anything you need to lift and dont have a second set of hands. Also use it to lift the couches to clean under them.

Showed 1 in stock an hour away last night, ordered, and this morning it was cancelled. Now it shows 2 in stock at full price at the same location.

I had had the cheap amazon ones as well, and while i found them useful, couple of times i ended up bending them because of how flimsy they were. It's one of the reasons i started looking for a better set. And back in the day there was only 1 manufacturer that sold quality ones and they were $150? i think. Dewalt ones are even better with foot support and slow decline.

There's 1 available in Halletsville, TX. Too far of a drive for me just for a single one. Congrats if you live near there.

Hanging doors
Air shims are what I use, cheaper and with more uses. Really good for hanging pocket doors. I used one to reach under a range and jack up the back corner so I could adjust the foot down without a wrench. I've used them to pry open my truck door to retrieve my keys

Lifting up washer to slide felt pads under was my last use. If you think creatively you'll find tons of uses

Full price around me. But I have four of them so I'm good. Also, git the extension the other day and it's pretty cool. (Yes I use them and yes I've used all 4 at once)

Only 250lb lift weight but looks like a nice replacement for light work

It's new. Till this week the DeWalt website only showed it available at a couple supply houses but not that close to me. Then it popped up on Hone Depot app while I was looking at something. I went to one and they had it but it was still up high, not put out yet. Didn't see it at another store but app said they had it.
