While you're probably not wrong, $300 for a 70" television is like complaining about a $5 pizza from Little Caesars. Yes, there are WAY better pizzas, but $5 is $5.

Buy it from the Best Buy website if your Amazon account is shared, and it's not in your name, and you plan to use the pick-up option.

Nope. $300 is $300 not $5. And if you're okay with pissing away that kind of money on a low-quality tv instead of something that lasts - then that's a very poor decision.

We bought a ~65"one for our den and a ~50" one for kids play room and we use each for hours daily and we haven't had any issues with it. The clarity is better than I had expected. For the price no regrets. I'm not saying this is the best TV out there or if it should be for your main living room. That's up for you to decide since people are picky and standards differ. No one here has watched it and complained the quality. It's not sluggish either as some claimed. We've had ours for two years and haven't had any issues.

I had one last 5 or 6 years running 13-14 hours a day before the backlight went out.

you seem to be missing the point.

Nobody buys a $300 television expecting a $3000 television, because not everybody needs a $3000 television.

For many people, as long as you know what you're getting, a $300 television is just fine.
