Apple, last week increased the cost of this device (and many others) $100.https://www.atlantanewsfirst.com/...acs-ipads/"Apple said that while it has shielded customers from the component price surges so far, "we have now reached a point where we need to begin raising prices on a number of products, including today's increases for iPad and Mac. We know this is not welcome news, and we are working tirelessly to find solutions."Shares of Apple fell $13.29, or 4.5%, to $279.88 on Thursday afternoon."Is this really a "deal"? Since when do electronics, as they get older, get more expensive??
Yes. It came out at $499. It's $399 with no tax. The price has gone up to $599. No one is really going to claim $200 in savings but it's still $100.

Since the billionaire AI goblins started gobbling up all available RAM for the next several years.

It's a deal because it's even less than the price it launched at plus the savings from no tax. The unfortunate part is, only a select group will be able to take advantage of that pretty deep discount. With the NEW retail price of these being $599 now, the chances of such deep discounts from your typical retailers isn't great. You can expect going forward the occasional "sales" of these to basically be the old MSRP price.
That quote from Apple should be translated as... we have now reached a point where we need to begin raising prices on a number of products in order to maintain the profit margins for which we are accustomed to. The press release makes it sound like they've been doing you a favor, never forget that their priority is their bottom line, then the shareholders, then you.
Apple is a 4.5 trillion dollar company. For a long time now, Apple has built into their products a very generous profit margin. A profit margin that other companies can only dream of, which is then further padded by their digital services which are almost pure profit. There's a reason they didn't raise prices on the iPhones (yet). It's their cash cow that they use to generate a lot of their profits from, both in terms of hardware profit and through their services profits.
How's the service from that website? Never used it before and I searched it but see alot of mixed reviews about customer service?
It's really good! Another nice perk you get as a Veteran! Great prices & tax free! If you live close to a Post/Base with an AAFES facility you can shop in person, if not shop via https://shopmyexchange.com
The shipping may not be as fast as some sites (like 2 days LOL), but the price makes it worth the wait. My $0.02

On July 4th, I'd say we're fortunate that there's a "select group" willing to serve in our nation's military. That includes both Americans and immigrants who have chosen to earn citizenship through service. Their commitment and sacrifice have helped preserve this country for 250 years, making any recognition or discount they receive seem well deserved.
That "select group" has made sacrifices that benefit all of us.

Is this site legit? Anyone has experience with this seller?
Considering the B&M portion of the store has been around since almost the beginning of landline telephones (Mr. Watson, come here—I want to see you!), I'd say they're legit!!
...and yes, I have extensive experience with this (and the other Military Exchanges - NEX, CGEX, MCX)...as does anyone else who's ever done a day serving in one of the six branches of the US Military Services or its associated Reserve or Guard components.

I have cousins who served, I'm aware. I also know none of them did so because of discounts on Apple products.

It's safe to say that no one would endure 13 weeks of boot camp and at least four years of service solely to save a few hundred dollars on Apple products.
