Under those circumstances I was able to clean out my toaster oven fine. I took the door off, took the little rack out, took the crumb tray out, wiped all those things down, and could easily fit my hand in the toaster oven to wipe the walls down and such. No there was nothing I needed to deep scrub off the walls, and yeah that would probably be more of a pain. Cleaning around the infrared heating elements does require some caution as well, in general not cooking in ways that grease spills on them is called out in the manual as something to watch out for.
Probably had it for about 9 years or so if I had to guess, not sure where I even got it from anymore. I've probably used it about 4-5 times a week over the whole 9 or so years I've had it. And more importantly, I'm the only one that uses it so no one else can make a mess out of it.

...... besides those specific instances I like this product
I only wanted the newer one because more tray space and ability to toast selectively on top or bottom, or both. Pizzas can come out better with it, but it's a hassle to use.
With the Panasonic, both elements turn on. That said, the Panasonic still wins for convenience.
I put a layer or aluminum foil over the pull out lower tray which help with cleaning and I also put a layer of tin foil over the inside heating tray.
It's a bitch to clean, but possible to make it decent looking again. I was skeptical but that dawn heavy duty power spray does a pretty good job.
Still using the same model more than a decade later, good example of don't ruin a good thing.
