You can regularly get the same coolers and more much more cheaply on aliexpress. It's a fridge, they're a pretty 'solved problem'. I use a 60 qt alpicool that looks suspiciously exactly the same as this rebranded one and it cost under $200 shipped.

Do these have to run upright like a normal fridge or are they adapted to run in other orientations for portability?

This model mentions a compressor. I looked at another model on their site with a compressor, and it says it should be horizontal for 12 hours before use.

Compressor means it's an actual refrigerator. The 'mini-fridge coolers' that don't require that are peltier coolers, which are much more inefficient. The downside is that if it uses the actual refrigeration cycle, by definition it has to have an orientation for gravity to feed the coolant to the pump.

Vevor had a sale about a week and half ago on there 58qt one (uses the Alpicool app so I'm assuming it's rebranded) and the total came out to $135 shipped

Thinking about getting one with wheels. Anyone have any experience without them? Too heavy to move?

Actually, its the compressor oil. If you tilt it, the oil could leak out into the tubing and get circulated into the hermeticly sealed system...

I have the 30qt and if it's fully loaded it's still heavy. This 58 def needs to be set in place or have wheels

There is eco and max mode. Max mode can be used for cooling things down more quickly but uses more power. Can switch to eco after everything is at temp.

After reading reviews, I believe I was right. Maybe not after a few uses but definitely won't last a few years. Pass
