Among the Chinese manufacturers of mini PCs, they're one of the better ones. Also, the type of device this is, a plenty powerful mini pc with very advanced ports and connectivities, currently they're the only makers.

Horrible reliability reputation but relatively cheap compared to other manufacturers.

The 235HX mini PC isn't a good deal though. Slow processor and this chassis in general has serious cooling issues, $1k is a ripoff. 285HX version is interesting with the NIC but unless you're technically proficient and okay with tinkering I'd avoid this brand

235HX is not a slow Processor in the 1st place. It is still more powerful than a Core Ultra 7 255H. Rest of the stuff like chassis having serious cooling issue, that you just made up. And why having a NIC in the 285HX model made it interesting, the so called cooling issue would be there as wel, isn't it? You actually did not get the part in the 1st place that this is actually targeted towards Tech enthusiasts, Advanced AI/Workload/Homelab Server builders in the 1st place.

None of this is true.
