Community Reviews
This Hamilton Beach glass electric kettle is a compact 1 liter option for fast boiling and easy tea or coffee prep. The clear glass and blue lights make it fun to watch, and the kettle has been described as lasting for years in similar Hamilton Beach models. It also avoids the cord holder issue seen in a pricier Breville. Main cautions are the small capacity, a lid that can snap off, a nonremovable filter, and a switch that may need fiddling over time.
Tea and coffee drinkers who want a fast boil for a single mug, because it heats water quicker than a stovetop and works well for everyday hot drinks.
Parents or caregivers making hot water safer than a microwave, because it avoids the burn risk of overheated cups of water.
Shoppers who like a glass kettle they can watch, because the clear body and blue lights make boiling visible and fun.
Buyers replacing a kettle with a flimsy cord holder, because this model avoids that cord wear problem.
Shoppers who need a cool-touch kettle, because the glass base can get very hot and may be uncomfortable to handle.
People who need a durable switch, because the switch can require fiddling and may eventually become hard to turn on.
People who need a larger kettle for multiple servings, because the 1-liter capacity is too small for 1.5 liters of hot water at once.
Users who want precise temperature control, because this style boils to 100°C first and then cools instead of stopping exactly at the target temperature.

I used to just buy breville until my last model. It has a defect where its cord would slowly get torn by its own cord holder underneath.
Now I have a much cheaper Hamilton that doesn't have this problem
