Just fyi these don't have sufficient ram to support ipados27 on-device intelligence features. M4 air with 12gb ram is sufficient.

Just fyi these don't have sufficient ram to support ipados27 on-device intelligence features. M4 air with 12gb ram is sufficient.

Agree, and these are for on device AI features. Also note that even the M4 Pro 256 and 512GB are only 8GB RAM. I was surprised that the m4 air is all 12 GB throughout, probably because they released it later and decided more memory was required.

Maybe the m4 might get a couple of OS updates more due to having more memory. I hope they give an option to disable AI features.

I paid this much a few months ago for a new 13" iPad Pro m1, this doesn't seem to great.

It doesn't have enough ram to support two features, advanced dictation and expressive voices.

Do you honestly think they would put out an OS that can't run on IPhone 17? Seriously?

The ram on this will be fine and iOS 27 actually has a new memory allocation system to help out with limitations, so it should improve performance for older devices
