The Anker SOLIX S2000 stands out as a compact, high capacity power station that is especially strong for outage backup and UPS use. It has powered fridges, lights, WiFi, fans, RV loads, and even sump pump backup, with reports of low idle draw, fast switching, dark start recovery, and a well designed app that shows power draw and remaining time. The small footprint and 2010Wh capacity make it feel like a useful middle ground between tiny laptop units and huge home backup systems. The main drawbacks are its weight, awkward handles, loud fan under heavy charge, and only 400W solar input, which limits faster recharging for bigger loads.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, it behaves like a real UPS: when house power returns, the ports come back on automatically, and the app shows power draw and remaining time. It is especially useful for fridge or computer backup because idle usage is very low and it can restart after a shutdown when wall power or solar returns.

  • It is under 36 pounds, so it is much lighter than many 75-pound class units, but it is still heavy for its size. The small footprint helps, yet the handles are not especially easy to grab for carrying.

  • It can keep a small fridge and a full-size fridge running through a 6-hour outage and still have about 80% battery left. For lighter loads like a fridge plus fans, it can also cover multi-hour outages with substantial reserve remaining.

  • It can run an RV setup through a TT-30 connection for about 2.5 hours with a 12,000 BTU AC, fridge, and fans, especially with ECO mode enabled. For a small AC, runtime is often estimated at about 3-4 hours, so it fits short camping or outage use better than all-day cooling.

  • Yes, but TOU mode requires an online account, Wi‑Fi setup, and a 2.4 GHz network; if Wi‑Fi drops, it falls back to UPS mode. It also prefers power from the front XT60i solar input when available, but the solar input is limited to 400W.

I got one of these on the early bird deal for the time-of-use mode. My peak electric rate is about 40% higher than off-peak, which more than makes up for the inefficiency.

You have to set up an online account to setup WiFi (as opposed to just using local Bluetooth). It only works on 2.4Ghz networks.

The TOU mode only works if the device is connected to Wifi. If the WiFi disconnects, it defaults to UPS mode and won't automatically switch to battery during the peak period. It will do this even if it's in the middle of a peak period, i.e, it'll switch back to AC input, if available, even though it knows that it's in a peak period.

It will preferentially use power from the XT60i connector on the front, even when it has AC power, which is good for using solar when you have it.

The switching time seems to be fast enough for all of the electronics that I've tried, but I wouldn't use this with something that needs to shutdown gracefully when the power runs out, like a desktop computer, since there's no way for it to automatically communicate that the battery is about to run down.

I have x2 of these functioning as UPSs and they are hands down superior for that function over my Bluetti's, Ecoflow and Pecrons. Until I got these Bluetti's were the best at UPS duty, but these are somehow far more efficient than the Bluetti's, weigh less, have a much smaller foot print, and better app control. They fit in areas that no other power station of this class gets close to. If you're looking for a general power station that does all sorts of things for camping, there are better products, but for UPS use this unit can't be beat. I suspect these will save me a solid 150 to 250 USD a year for the lead acid UPSs they are replacing, another 75 to 150 USD per year when my state gets electrical VPP when they auto discharge during peak and top up during off peak, and last at least x5 times longer (x2 as long as my Bluetti's). Only minor complaints are that there isn't an easy place to grab these units, and the fan is stupid load when it is under a 1000W+ charge load.
For car camping, what would you recommend, thank you

How much better, if any, is this over like a Jackery 1500 watt model that is around $450 or so?
The main benifit of the S2000 is the extremely low idle usage. Especially useful if you plan to use this as a USP for say a fridge or computer system. Also since fridge or led lights use so little energy that the low idle pays off

One nice thing about the S2000 is the dark start, so if the battery gets low and shuts down it will start back up when it gets power again from the wall or a solar panel.

I already have a bunch of 12v LFP batteries and a 3 older units So I can run the fridge and AC for a Few hours before I fire up the generator.

I really want to wait for a Tax rebate to return or at least Sodium Ion Batteries that are safer, cheaper and will last longer.

Of the 2 you mentioned the s2000 is easily worth it.

this might help you

Great deal just wish the solar input was higher. I've got a small 800w array id like to take full advantage of. Anyone try over feeding this?

So for an average size in home fridge, like how many hours do you think we could get on this Anker, and the Jackery?

I don't have one, but the best out there from my research is probably the Anker C2000 Gen 2. 2400W inverter, 12V port (good for some camping stuff), small profile, wonderful app, great support.

If you're mainly just for camping, have an app that isn't as good, good to very good support (not as good as Anker's though) and want to keep the cost down, Pecron is pretty gangbusters. I have the E1000LFP or above as it's great for camping with a 1800W limit (also have the E600LFP which is wonderful, but not for camping). F1000 and above if you don't mind that 1500W limit on the low end.

ordered one to use with Sump Pump since my existing battery back up UPS unit went bad...a pair of SLA batteries failed and swelled and cracked...the external batteries are still good.

My C2000 Gen 2 got me through a power outage this weekend, I was abo to run my RV through the TT-30 amp cord. Was able to get 2.5 hours using my AC 12,000 BTU, Fridge and Fans.

I used ECO Mode on my AC and that seemed to help.

I cannot wait for the external batteries to drop in price. I have my eyes on the BP3000.
Have a look at kludging a 48w battery as your backup. takes some doing w ecoflow, but you can do it. Not sure about anker. 4000wh+ extra. well under 1000 even w cables.

That jackery is almost certainly 1000wh. This = double that. Watt hours are the important stat here. almost everything has a 1500w inverter (big microwave size.)

Does this need a trickle charger to stay charged when not in use?
