Any experience feeding this to your pooches, especially larger ones? Thank you
Unlike one-size-fits-all brands, Royal Canin features kibble shapes customized to a breed's unique jaw structure.
I have a 26 pound cocker spaniel. The breeder sent me home with a bag of the Royal Canin puppy and he LOVED it. He has nearly finished his 3rd 18 lb. bag (he's 6 months old). Cocker's tend to swallow there dry/wet without chewing so theirs is shaped like a cashew so that they will actually chew it instead of swallowing it right away.
Not only does he love the adult Royal Canin but even my 5 lb cat likes it. It's a mouthful for her but it must be really good for her to be interested in it. She's kind of picky. This is the only flavor she will eat twice in a row.
I guess if Cannin is made for specific breed dog jaws then it's not made for the millions of us who chose rescue mutts. I personally like Honest Kitchen. The honest kitchen kibble results in noticeable less refuse which means there is less by product and more absorption of the food. And the dehydrated version mixed in gives him moisture with his food. But I suppose if you own a beagle or a corgi then maybe RC is the food for your dog.
I heard this is an excellent dog food. Any experience feeding this to your pooches, especially larger ones? Thank you
I swapped to this once my dog became an adult. He never loved his puppy food but he likes this. He does really well on it. I buy the breed specific one.

My father is a veterinarian. Royal Canin, Science Diet, and Purina Pro Plan are the 3 foods he would recommend to clients and we would use for our own pets.
