You misunderstood. I will happily order direct to the mom and pop restaurant and ensure they get the full amount. DD takes a 10-15% cut on deliveries and about a 6% cut on pick ups so I'd rather call or place an order with the small restaurants directly and use my DD gift card elsewhere.

Those mom and pop restaurants are on DD because they want business from DD users. And most of them increase the menu prices to account for the cut DD takes.

Typically the menu prices on DD are already marked up by the restaurant to offset DD's fees. You're not doing the local businesses a favor by avoiding them on the platform.

Yep. Prices are marked up.
At a local Japanese restaurant, an avocado roll is marked up from $4.75 if I walked into the restaurant ordered it for takeout to $5.49 on DD. That's a 15.5% increase.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I have T-Mobile's free DashPass which gives me 5% back on pick-up order and stack this DashPass with this 25% off Doordash giftcard.

So the math looks like this:
25% off x 5% back = 0.75 * 0.95 = 0.7125 which is 71.25%;
100%-71.25% = 28.75% off.
