It's nice that it's stainless, but it's for looks. The tubing and filters are still made of plastic.

This is not reverse osmosis. the core of reserve osmosis is the Reverse Osmosis Membrane, which does most of the filtration. But it takes a long time for water to pass through, which is why you need that big storage tank. A standard 3 to 4-gallon reverse osmosis (RO) holding tank typically takes 2 to 4 hours to fill.

If this system fills a 8 ounce cup in 2.3 seconds, you are barely getting any filtration at all.

Also, it doesn't come with the faucet. Make sure you have one or order the one with faucet to avoid disappointment.

I wonder how this compares to https://a.co/d/0eewp7zO? It's also 3 stage and not stainless steel, since it's under the sink nobody is seeing it. Filters cost $100? Is that correct?

You dont need the faucet this filters the entire kitchen sink.

Get an RO with a mineral filter. Best water period. Spend the extra on a waterdrop RO.

Not quite, this isn't supposed to be an RO filter. This has a much higher flow rate and it isn't as fickle. In my area TDS isn't a huge issue and the installation appears cleaner from a counter top perspective. I still keep a Zero pitcher, but this is plenty some folks.

It's not an RO system, but in exchange, it has a higher flow rate and doesn't need a drain. Won't taste as good, but better than a regular filter. Could use it for the cold water on your sink/dishwasher, or (with modification) a very overpowered inline fridge filter so you can bypass the manufacturer filters (filter plugs are normally free if you ask for one). But for drinking water, and under your sink, an RO system really is the best.

I feel like you are already doing about 75% of the work and spending, may as well go RO. I havent even check how much proprietary filters cost for long term. I have a 10yrs old+ RO 5 stage system that is still going and providing water from 220-240 TDS to 9-20. I dis have to replace various parts over the years

So, speaking of this, I was looking at some houses in Parade of homes, and at least one of them seemed to have a three-stage one that looked like this one for WHOLE HOME filtration. I was wondering if whole-home systems skip RO, and if so, how they do. If not, where's the tank? I didn't see one.

I had this for two years. Although it fits my need in term of water filtration and quality, it is very hard to replace filters because of the poor quick connect intel design which make it hard to discount. Plus the unit is very heavy too.
