Great game when it 1st came out, but gets stale very quickly. You repeat the same quests/missions over and over again. And my friends and I want a player vs environment mode, we don't like fighting other players. If we wanted to fight other players we would have played COD etc.
ARC Raiders is a looter shooter that shines in short bursts, especially at $22, with the Steam PC code confirmed working and cross play or cross save support making the platform choice flexible. The game loop can be a lot of fun for weeks, and the price is being called a steal for anyone into the genre. The main knocks are repetitive quests, a weak endgame, and a grind that leans heavily on scavenging and inventory management. PvP also dominates many lobbies, while cheating and slow content updates are recurring concerns, so it fits best if that loop is what you want.
Looter-shooter fans who like short-session extraction runs, because the game stays entertaining for weeks before the endgame turns into a grind.
The game is heavily PvP-leaning, especially in duo and trio lobbies, while solo lobbies are usually calmer. It can feel repetitive if you want pure PvE, and the PvE loop is described as getting stale quickly.
At $22, it is considered a strong buy for looter-shooter fans and a steal compared with higher launch prices. It can keep you busy for weeks, but the endgame is light and eventually turns into a grind.
Xbox supports cross-saves between console and PC for Play Anywhere titles, so that setup can carry progress across both platforms. Steam is still the safer choice if you want your save tied to PC storefront ownership.
Yes. The PC (WW) option is a Steam code and it activated successfully at $21.89. That makes it the PC/Steam version rather than a separate launcher key.
Been playing this game since release and Embark unfortunately hasn't released content quickly enough to keep the game fresh with only a couple updates with new AI enemy types and weapons and only a couple new maps. I still enjoy the game but only play to do the expedition wipe every couple months to repeat the process.
Not only that but embarq took a few months to start banning people that do the dupe glitch but no action still on all the hackers on PC version. Crazy how everyone does wall hacks in this game now and the devs do nothing to stop the actual cheaters.
For those wondering, Google says they are legit and was at one time the company CDKeys where I used to buy my stuff all the time.
Depends on your search. Google also told me it's the most legit grey market key sites. CDKeys was always considered a grey market site. The main question is where do they source their keys?
They haven't removed any games yet (which is incredible), but they have removed licensed songs from games via updates. Not nearly as controversial as just deleting something you "buy" from your library.
I like the other approach where a game just gets delisted and stays as-is.
Arc Raiders has been my favorite game for the past 6 months. Nothing has pulled me in as an adult more than it. I paid $50 for the deluxe and gifted my brother the standard edition at $32. $22 is a steal for such a great and fun game.
why would you choose STEAM over Play Anywhere titles on Xbox / Windows Marketplace??
Why would you choose a closed ecosystem over a DRM-free outlet that also supports game preservation, such as GOG?
When you "buy" a game on Steam, PS Store or the Xbox Marketplace (or other outlet), you're purchasing a non-transferable limited license to access that game, not the game itself. The Fine Print: The user agreements explicitly state that the outlets reserve the right to modify or discontinue services and revoke access to content.

Good reminder since I forgot about that game I bought during a previous steam sale!
Arc Raiders is fun as others have stated, but single player lobbies vs duo and trio lobbies are very different. Solo, most people are chill...duo or trios, expect a lot of PVP. The material gets old since the end game is weak, but for $22, it's not bad and definitely worth it if you're into looter shooters.
This game made me lose my faith in humanity. Everybody is pretty cool, but even the coolest of people in the nicest of non-pvp lobbies will absolutely stab you in the back if you bring a rare weapon that you spend hours and hours of your real world life grinding to get the parts for. Eventually this game just becomes: launch, walk around, find random crap, yell "Hello, Raider!", about a dozen times, manage inventory space, rinse, repeat.

You can play Helldivers2 if you want pure pve. The devs chose to add the pvp aspects because they though the game was boring, and they are right. Pve gets stale very quickly.
