What does seem to be somewhat standardized are circular grommet inserts. There are several popular sizes. But, there are common ones. And being circular, you are just matching one dimension (diameter) instead of 2 for a rectangle (LxW).
Search Amazon for "grommet power outlet" for examples of what I'm talking about. You can pick a size/diameter that works well for you. Then cut one or multiple holes at once for your desk. Each hole can be covered with a clean, blank plastic insert when it's not being used.
In addition to dropping in a AC/USB power adapters, these holes have a few other functions. One popular option are using them for cable management. Having a few tidy holes allows you to drop cables below to the underside of your desk. Another option is to attach monitor arms/stands. While you can usually clamp these onto the backside of your desk, another option is to clam the monitor stand through the grommet hole.
TL;DR: This probably works fine. But using a similar option that fits a circular grommet hole might be better long term.

Power banks
Switch 1 and 2 (when someone is too lazy to return them to their docks)
Cameras like GoPros and DJI Nano
Pixel 6, 8, 9, and 10 phone variants
iPad, Lenovo, and Samsung tablets
Bluetooth speakers and headsets

Active styluses (pens/pencils) for Samsung and Apple devices
20W can often charge devices faster. But it's not guaranteed. And even for devices that can make use of 15W+ chargers, they often slow down a lot before the end. Even many laptops that recommend 65W chargers can charge with 20W.
I'm not saying that faster chargers aren't beneficial. And it makes perfect sense to avoid this deal if you want a faster charger. But I don't think it's accurate to say that 20W isn't useful these days.
