Unless you have taken appropriate steps, Roku is/was likely already brokering data well before this sale.

Personal experience with PiHole monitoring Roku, FireTV (and stick), and Android box traffic shows considerable tracking. With its new menu/home screen, Roku is now tracking even more and my PiHole is blocking less. I see less traffic with customized Android boxes.
As far as the highest bidder, if its a matter of high bids and "business is business," I would not be surprised that the "buyers" and the "sellers" share a considerable amount of overlap regardless of any perceived bias - after all, "business is business."
Personally, I want to limit the amount of my information getting out there regardless of any bias on the part of the buyer or seller. If you use any of these devices, it is very likely that you are being tracked and your information sold - even if you have taken steps to minimize it.
PS - when is the sale final? I know they are monitoring now - I can see the traffic on my PiHole.
PPS - streaming services, themselves, as well as large corporations such as Amazon, Google, Apple, etc are also buying and selling information (read the Roku privacy statement (linked above) regarding streaming services, third party apps, etc).

I was reading a response from GROK.com regarding ads on ROKU - notably an increase since the "new" home screen. One of the comments that returned was:
"Privacy/Telemetry: Very aggressive outbound traffic to Roku domains for usage data, even with privacy settings adjusted."
The response went further to describe how Roku defaults to Google DNS servers and hence can "get around" ad blockers such as PiHole and AdGuard.
My guess:? More ads=more tracking which makes the platform more attractive to potential buyers.
Here's a link to a June 15 AP article describing the sale of ROKU to Fox Network (Not FoxNews) noting
"The bigger play here is advertising revenue, something all the major streamers are now jockeying for,"
"Fox's shares tumbled 15% on Monday and Roku declined nearly 2%."
The sale is set to close some time in early 2027 - so - not done yet.

Short answer - they are (all) tracking you regardless of who owns who.
