Are these absolutely worth it or should I go for cheaper bulk purchases of these as a hobbyist?

That all depends on what you're cutting. If you're cutting wood or drywall, cheap blades will do it just fine. If you're doing construction, you'll definitely need some carbide blades that can go through multiple fasteners before the blade needs replacement. All blades wear out pretty quickly.
