Those cheap ones from AliExpress have very low quality, last very short, and are terrible at cleaning. I bought it once and will no longer buy again

It's $1 more for scotch brite brand right now, there's a buy 1 get 1 50% multi buy coupon on mine right now, with S&S, came out to a bit over $8 https://a.co/d/0fKUPS8X

The Scotch Brite blue scrub sponge used to be my go to but their quality went down. The blue sponge is now thinner and less absorbent, and the adhesive holding the scrub side starts to fall apart after only a few uses.
I switched over to the O-Cedar Scrunge and so far am very happy with it. It's more expensive, but worth it to me.

Community Reviews

These CELOX kitchen sponges are positioned as a cheap Scotch Brite style option for everyday dishwashing, with bulk alternatives and store brands often coming in lower. The main appeal is the low upfront price for a 12 pack, but the comments point to thin construction, faster wear, and some reports of molding or mildew smell after only a few uses. They are also not scratch free. Cellulose sponges, O Cedar Scrunge, Scrub Mommy, or Costco bulk packs come up as sturdier alternatives, making this a budget pick if you can live with shorter life.

100% agree. What to buy these days that are as good as the old school original 3M Scotch Brites?

"Not easy to produce bacteria" my ass. These things seem to mold after like one or two uses in my household, despite religiously ringing them out after every use. And when they do mold, the mildew stench lingers on your hands after multiple hand-washes.
I always wash them along with drain plugs and drain filters each time I do a load of dishes in the dishwasher. I've never had them smell. I do squeeze all the water out too.

Is there a sponge for sale that doesn't suck these days? The blue Scotch brand ones have been completely decimated by shrinkflation and are a shell of what they used to be. If there is a brand out there still making good sponges, I'd be willing to make the jump.

Try the O-Cedar Scrunge. I have seen positive things said about the Scrub Mommy as well, but haven't tried it.

Rinse, wring out every time, and leave in a way they can dry out. Just once letting them sit dirty will wreck them. They last really long if you're careful

Scrub Mommy is fine at first, but honestly after awhile the cute face becomes annoying as it starts ripping around the eyes and mouth parts of the sponge. I'll stick to rectangles as they last longer over heavy use.

As another alternative you can get a 12-pack of Scotch Brite Heavy Duty (green ones) for $8.39 after 25% coupon.

These are my usual go to work horse sponges

You can get 50 of these on AliExpress for $3.
No you can't. The ones on Ali suck. I've tried a few and nothing compares to Scotch unfortunately

I used the Walmart brand to clean my 20" wheels on my RAM, and Goo Gone graffiti remover. They looked like new! Sold the wheels and almost bald BFG ATs for $500, bought some different wheels and decent tires for $300.
