My hesitation is how hard is this to clean?

We had one of these, and we used it a few times. Yes, it made Rotisserie chickens just as good as your local grocery store did. But unlike the local grocery store - I was the one cleaning the mess. And these contraptions are messy. Grease in the pan that will always, somehow, tip and spill in the floor. The pan is huge - almost too big for the sink to clean it in. The heat from the unit is like having a small furnace in the house because it's uninsulated and just keeps pumping out heat. Personally, I think it's much easier to just go pick up a rotisserie chicken for $6-$10 whenever you want one, than to pay for a whole uncooked chicken, harness it into this unit, heat your house, make a mess, then have to wash all of the parts afterwards. Totally not a fan and actually gave our rotisserie oven away.

Reminds me of the old Showtime Rotisserie, "Set It, and Forget It!"

My grandparents had one of those and with plenty of Cavender's Greek seasoning, I don't think I've ever had any chicken or roast beef that was as juicy and delicious so this device is tempting.

This horizontal rotisserie oven is appealing for juicy, rotisserie style chicken or turkey on demand, with the meat continually basting in its own juices for a grocery store style result. The nostalgic appeal and the ability to make a great dinner at home stand out, especially for larger birds and summer cooking. The main drawback is cleanup, since the pan, grease, and overall unit are described as messy and awkward to wash, and the appliance also takes up space and runs hot. It feels best suited to cooks who want the rotisserie experience enough to live with the cleanup.

  • The rotisserie design can continuously baste meat in its own fat and juices for more flavorful results.

  • The unit can produce rotisserie-style chicken or turkey on demand for convenient dinners.

    tencuhtliHOWARDH3121

  • The cooking results can be comparable to grocery-store rotisserie chickens when used for a few sessions.

    OliveChannel2583

  • The horizontal rotating setup can help deliver juicy chicken or roast beef when paired with seasoning.

    PurpleMitten6516

  • The large pan can be difficult to clean in a sink, making cleanup more burdensome than expected.

    OliveChannel2583mrpickles

  • The overall cost can be hard to justify versus buying ready-made rotisserie chicken, especially after electricity, marinade, and cleaning.

    TalentedRose460TenseChannel607

  • The rotisserie oven can be very messy, with grease spills and tipping that create extra cleanup.

    OliveChannel2583

  • The uninsulated design can run hot like a small furnace, adding noticeable heat to the house.

According to Rufus, yes nod

Quote :
Yes, a turkey can fit in the NutriChef Horizontal Rotating Shawarma Oven. The product description specifically mentions it's "ideal for chicken, turkey & lamb," and the 22.4-quart capacity with dimensions of 16" x 13" x 13" can accommodate a whole turkey.
However, the oven is designed to fit two whole chickens maximum at once, so your turkey size matters—smaller turkeys (around 10–12 lbs) should fit comfortably, but larger birds may be tight or not fit depending on dimensions.

If I have the space, I'll buy it! The idea of rotisserie chicken or turkey on demand sounds delicious!

Won't an airfryer do all this too?
No, rotisseries continually bastes meat in its own juices making it much more flavorful.

Not as often as you can buy a rotisserie chicken from Sam's or Costco for 5 bucks.

So will a microwave. Also most air fryers are smaller and few have a rotary spit
