My hesitation is how hard is this to clean?

We had one of these, and we used it a few times. Yes, it made Rotisserie chickens just as good as your local grocery store did. But unlike the local grocery store - I was the one cleaning the mess. And these contraptions are messy. Grease in the pan that will always, somehow, tip and spill in the floor. The pan is huge - almost too big for the sink to clean it in. The heat from the unit is like having a small furnace in the house because it's uninsulated and just keeps pumping out heat. Personally, I think it's much easier to just go pick up a rotisserie chicken for $6-$10 whenever you want one, than to pay for a whole uncooked chicken, harness it into this unit, heat your house, make a mess, then have to wash all of the parts afterwards. Totally not a fan and actually gave our rotisserie oven away.

Reminds me of the old Showtime Rotisserie, "Set It, and Forget It!"

My grandparents had one of those and with plenty of Cavender's Greek seasoning, I don't think I've ever had any chicken or roast beef that was as juicy and delicious so this device is tempting.

We had one of these, and we used it a few times. Yes, it made Rotisserie chickens just as good as your local grocery store did. But unlike the local grocery store - I was the one cleaning the mess. And these contraptions are messy. Grease in the pan that will always, somehow, tip and spill in the floor. The pan is huge - almost too big for the sink to clean it in. The heat from the unit is like having a small furnace in the house because it's uninsulated and just keeps pumping out heat. Personally, I think it's much easier to just go pick up a rotisserie chicken for $6-$10 whenever you want one, than to pay for a whole uncooked chicken, harness it into this unit, heat your house, make a mess, then have to wash all of the parts afterwards. Totally not a fan and actually gave our rotisserie oven away.

Instead of "Chemicals" it's better to call out a couple of ingredients in Costco chickens that most people wouldn't add to their chicken at home: hydrolyzed casein and isolated soy protein. According to some research, casein is a type of milk protein. So if you have a milk allergy or soy intolerance those can be somewhat problematic. Also many store bought rotisserie chickens have carrageenan, which gives that gummy residue after you take the chicken out of the fridge.I'm not bashing Costco chickens but for some people those are non-negotiable because they can cause upset stomachs. I've had to forego my favorite dinner hack because of a family member with dietary issues.

Thanks that's what I was thinking about Cleanup... Use an electric Roaster, does great but cleanup is ok. Then use an oven Roasting Pan with lid. So, if it was easy cleanup, it would be worth it, but also takes up space somewhere too.

I used to have an air fryer with a rotary spit. It couldn't fit anything bigger than a cornish game hen though and still have it rotate. I actually kinda want to buy this but I have too many kitchen appliances already.

Costco chicken is cheaper. Save you money and cleaning. A raw whole chicken cost average $7. Using electricity to run this thing for 2-3 hours probably cost $5. Marinade can cost up to $6. Then you still have to clean it and those who pay for water by meter can cost $5. So you rotisserie a chicken that doesn't even taste as good as Costco for $23 plus cleaning. And then store this thing away for another few weeks or months. Do it!
