Community Reviews

The Pixel 9 Pro XL is still described as a reliable, fast flagship with strong camera performance and solid day to day behavior, and it keeps receiving updates. The main appeal is the Pixel experience, but the 128GB version feels cramped because system apps and AI core take a noticeable chunk of storage, leaving roughly 95 to 100GB usable. Reception is also reported as a bit weaker than an S24 Ultra, and there are recurring complaints about GPS and battery drain bugs on some units. A decent option if the camera matters more than storage headroom.

Common Questions (4)

  • It has been reported as reliable over about a year and still receiving updates, with no overheating or battery glitches in normal use. A separate report notes a Pixel battery-drain bug and another mentions severe GPS and battery issues, so software behavior can vary.

  • Several comments suggest waiting for the Pixel 11 or even the 10 Pro XL/10 Pro line, especially if you want more storage or newer features like Pro Res Zoom and MagSafe. The current deal is framed as more reasonable only if you need a camera phone right away and can live with 128GB.

  • 128GB is likely tight on this model because about 10-12GB can be taken by AI core and other unremovable apps, leaving roughly 95-100GB usable. That can fill quickly with 4K video and high-res photos, and there's no expandable storage.

  • AI core can reportedly be disabled to reclaim some of the storage it uses. That helps, but it does not change the fact that the phone has no microSD expansion and 128GB is still limited for heavy photo and video use.

I have been using 256 gb version since launched, I would recommend to wait for 11 pro series (next month will launch). Min t mobil, googl f i etc does great deals with pixel phones.
I agree. I have this phone and the 10 Pro XL. The 10 Pro XL with the Pro Res Zoom and magsafe alone make it worth waiting and getting the 11 Pro if you want new or wait for the 10 Pro line to drop.

128GB with no expansion is useless to most people.

It forces you to pay for cloud subscription.

4k videos and hires pictures will eat space. The phone probably has 95-100gb useable.
