These are some big bulbs, I'm going to have to take a closer look at where I plan to use these before I order them.

1600 lumens ("100W equivalent") at $5/smart bulb is a good deal, where most slickdeals are $5/smart bulb for 800 lumens ("60W equivalent") if you're thinking about using these for outdoor fixtures

Is Matter better than Zigbee if you're using them with Home Assistant?

I bought the 800lm Matter a few days ago for use with HA, and a benefit of Matter is that it uses existing WiFi without requiring a hub or gateway. Zigbee is good for battery powered devices because it uses less power, but bulbs obviously are hard wired for power

Yes they are the larger A21 than you have on the regular medium A19. Same socket as the E26 tho.

I bought 2 of these for 24 bucks less than a month ago. Going to return it so I can get a 4 pack for cheaper ;p

Small note to everyone. The "WARM white" setting for these are absolutely terrible and almost unusable. They are not warm white at all. The soft white setting on the otherhand is perfectly fine. That may be the difference between 2700k and 3000k

When talking about Matter, it is important to distinguish between Matter over wi-fi vs. Matter over Thread. These are wi-fi, which isn't inherently bad, but if you are just starting to build a base of home automation, building a strong Thread mesh with mains powered device would be a better way to go. That way, as you add Matter over Thread sensors, your mesh is already in place to support them.

If you are just looking for smart RGBW bulbs, then these will do as well as anything.

So each one gets an IP address? Ouch.

I just configured these today in my environment- relatively painless connecting to HA, good brightness, and vibrant colors. The big downside as those mentioned above is the lack of thread/zigbee- if you have a mesh network these won't contribute.

To use music lights you use another app. But that app requires a bulb reset when I first ran it

These are different. It looks like these go all the way down to 1800k
