Got a 2 pack of these from meh a couple of months ago. It does the job if you prefer cold brew and don't want a full 16-24hr steep. Play with the amounts and the time to find what you like. Seems like a straight pour and drink, not a concentrate, filters like a French press. For $5 each it's worth it if you like cold brew and have the counter space.

No way you can extract "cold brew" in minutes. This is worthless product. Check out reviews on YouTube. Its garbage, that's why its so cheap! And who needs a 2 pack??

Ironically, I just started a batch of cold brew, 1st time in a few years.

64oz glass ball jar
(available at Target 6/ $14)
Add 2) cups coarse burr grinder ground coffee.
Fill rest of jar w/ cold water
Shakey shake
Leave 20 hours
Shakey every few hours
Pour thru metal strainer.
Then pour through coffee filter.

Makes cold brew tea pretty well in my opinion. Forget cold brew coffee in it. It seems to have a thin detachable Borosilicate glass cup in it, a built in french press, and a magnetic stirrer.

You get two of them for $10 and free shipping, which is a lot of entertainment, parts, and tea or other drink mixes.

This is the way for cold brew coffee. The Dorothy does make cold tea pretty fast though. I think they mislabeled it.

I mean, recent research shows you can use ultrasound to make a cold espresso in about 2 minutes.
Ultrasonic can drastically decrease steeping times for lots of things.

Not saying this is ultrasound, but saying a fact about ultrasound and coffee.

I got one for $5 from meh a while back. Coffee was a fast nope, and I was disappointed that the press isn't long enough to reach the bottom of the glass, but for $5 the glass and the stirrer are indeed worth it.

So this is a Tinman Rapid Cold Brew product. Some day they'll build a statue of me!

"Dorothy, I will save you from awful coffee from that tornado cold brewer with my ultrasonic brewer"!

I looked it up with AI. AI is great as a search engine (and can be lousy at deducing things)

Researchers at the University of New South Wales have developed a method to brew espresso-strength coffee in 2–3 minutes using ultrasound and room-temperature water, eliminating the need for heat or high pressure. This process, published in the Journal of Food Engineering, uses acoustic cavitation to extract flavors and oils, achieving chemical and sensory profiles comparable to traditional espresso while consuming 75% less energy.
Key details of the ultrasonic brewing technique include:
  • Mechanism: A transducer attached to the espresso basket generates high-frequency sound waves that create microscopic bubbles. The collapse of these bubbles (cavitation) mechanically fractures coffee grounds, accelerating extraction without heat.
  • Efficiency: The system uses only 24% of the energy required by a conventional espresso machine, as it avoids the energy-intensive process of heating large volumes of water.
  • Sensory Results: In blind taste tests with 100 coffee drinkers, participants could not reliably distinguish the ultrasonic espresso from traditional hot espresso in terms of aroma, flavor, bitterness, and overall liking.
  • Versatility: The same technology can also reduce cold brew production time from 12–24 hours to under 3 minutes, with consumers even preferring the ultrasonic filter coffee over conventional pour-over.
This sounds better than I thought when I read your post. How it is done sounds easily doable as a diy project.

Ultrasound enables espresso-strength coffee brewing in 2–3 minutes at low temperature with lower energy consumption

(fyi - not to get off the subject too much and confuse, but this is not how the Dorothy works)
