BedJet 3 is a bed climate system that works best for cooling and warming the sleeper under the covers, especially for night sweats and keeping temperature steady through the night. The app, remote, timers, and biorhythms scheduling get strong praise, and the special cloud sheet can make airflow more effective and comfortable. It does not cool below room temperature, so it is not a room air conditioner, and the special sheet adds cost. Some also find the airflow too cold, too hot, or distracting, so fit depends on sleep style and room conditions.

You fundamentally don't understand how this works. It's a fan under your bed that circulates air, which (just like a ceiling fan) acts to cool your body when air passes over it. It's not doing anything at 68 degrees or 74 degrees; it's all a function of cooling your body and using the air that your AC has already cooled.
This device also has a heater that brings the temperature up to the level you set. So if your ambient air is 68 it might feel too cold when it's being blown under your covers, and 74 might be more comfortable. One thing this does well is to keep your temperature consistent through the night

This seems like such a silly useless device but with so many positive reviews on here and reddit and youtube from actual owners of this thing, I just bought one! Gonna be in the +90's here all next week so hope it ships quick.

So you understand the "magic" that happens for cooling but you want a $500 mini split in one shoe box that fits under your bed? Seems unrealistic.

This product seems to be very polarizing. The people that have it really like it. The people that don't seem to think it's a ripoff.

Ultimately it works for certain people and situations.
I think the main part of what makes it polarizing is that people don't even understand what it does and don't bother to read and just feel the need to post their opinions on everything misconceptions and all because reading is too hard for them. In the US at least, literacy rates are actually declining.

And the people who say it's comically overpriced even if they do understand what the product is, apparently don't understand business at all because if it was so overpriced for such a simple product, they should be rushing to make their own and undercut the BedJet pricing. Yes, it's just a fan and a small heater with a circulation hose to direct the air under the blanket on your bed, so why isn't anyone else making them? Obviously it's been a fairly niche product from the start and that changes the economics of the product and what pricing makes sense for sustaining a business doing it.

Without some kind of customized manufacturing/housing setup, it's not exactly easy to reproduce the effects with just DIY either. Like for example, people can make their own air purifiers by buying a box fan and attaching some filters in a certain arrangement around the box fan, simple DIY if anyone wants a cheap air purifier. Now try doing that with a space heater and fan combo pumping into a 2.5-3" hose and interconnected circuit board to control it with a remote/app. I'm sure some people could do it, but not the average person, nowhere near as simple as taping a few air filters to a box fan to make a cheap air purifier alternative.

I tried this before but it does not feel good while sleeping, hard to explain why. The only thing work for me is eightsleep, the product work but really expensive. love the product, hate the company practice and price point. Wish there were more competitors.

From $199 to $399 a year just to use their sleep system, PLUS $2500 (minimum, on sale) buy in. Wow!

I mean.. "thermoelectric cooling" sounds a lot like a "portable AC unit" to me. And that's a different product with different trade offs than this one. There are a bunch of portable ACs out there if you want that.
portable AC unit needs venting. I like the idea of bed cooling, this just blows air.

Have you had a HVAC company check your duct runs? Sounds like it's either too long or kinked and not getting enough airflow into your BR
yes they mentioned spider web duct run and said they'd put in a direct one to the BR for $700

This may not make me sleep better but I'll bet it will do an excellent job collecting all the dog and cat hair out from under my bed

But like, the thermoelectric heat pump also needs to dump its heat somewhere. If you don't vent it, it's just rearranging the heat in the air of the room and generating more heat in the process. You could similarly run a vapor-compression AC (aka the typical kind) without hoses. It'd be a similar effect; this is what a refrigerator does. We generally choose vapor compression systems because they are about 4 times as energy efficient as thermoelectric heat pumps, not because of venting or not.

Ouch
Depending on the run length that could be a good price, but I hate those large chunks tradesmen tend to take out of my bank account.

I got a pair of these on a prior deal, and while I love the cocoon of air and being able to schedule warmth as an alarm, I've had a ton of trouble with it losing connectivity with the remote, and sometimes just powering off completely so I have to get out of bed, crawl on the floor, and power it back on before I can pair it again. This happens multiple times per week.

Curious if they make cheap vapor compression based ACs for a room?
