ELEGOO PLA Pro is a popular everyday filament for fast Amazon delivery, and the 4 pack at $39.99 lands around the going rate for this line. The filament is praised for consistent printing, good color vibrancy, and a finish that many prefer over cheaper AliExpress options like Jayo and Kingroon. Some also like the Pro version less than PLA Plus, describing it as more PETG like in look and feel. The main caveat is price, since this deal often appears and a few rolls have shown weaker bed adhesion or duller colors. A solid option if you want convenience and predictable results.

  • The filament can arrive same-day or within about two days for faster restocking.

  • Some users report PLA Pro feels more PETG-like in dimensional accuracy and appearance, which can match certain preferences.

  • The 4-pack price can land around $7-$8 per 1kg spool when it is a good deal.

  • Some users report better print results versus Jayo or Kingroon, including fewer stringing and support scarring issues.

  • The $39.99 4-pack price may not be a good deal even for a PLA Pro version.

  • PLA Pro can show worse bed adhesion than other filaments, including Elegoo regular PLA.

  • Color and appearance can come out dull or off, such as standard red printing pink.

  • The listing may show a different finish than the product shown in the deal post, which can create confusion about what is being purchased.

To categorize all PLA as the same is silly or simply due to lack of knowledge. I've tried and have a ton (some of it in attached photo) of PLA (all dialed in) and there are absolutely differences between many of them.

While Elegoo PLA Pro is their most expensive (generally) between their basic, rapid & plus and many people prefer their pro, their PLA+ is my preference between those four. I do have plenty of PLA Pro but it has more of a PETG feel to it which many people prefer or like, but not me.

Yes, Amazon does run this price on the 4-pack every month or so, but it is still a good deal. I suppose if your not in a rush we know it will likely come back in August.

honest question: can you explain why you preference is the + over the Pro?

A couple reasons... I like the finish better and I found the plus to have better dimensional accuracy. I mentioned in a previous post... the Pro seems a bit "PETGish" to me - that was in reference to both dimensional accuracy and the look. Again, it could come down to personal preference and I'm sure many people prefer the Pro which I would guess is why Elegoo may charge more for it than the Plus (or maybe it just costs more to make?).

Don't get me wrong, It's a very good filament and I have some (just counted 16 rolls), but mostly just a personal thing. The Burgundy Red PLA Pro is from my favorite filaments - It's such a beautiful color. If you look at the attached photo, there are some colors I really like of the Pro which is why I have them, but black is not one of them.

"...but those are inferior filaments"How did you come to this conclusion? Truth is, most filament comes from the same places in China. Repeated testing on "pro", etc. versions show no difference. It's just marketing.Yes, a person would need t wait longer for the other brands. Usually a week vs a couple of days. This is one reason why the other brands are cheaper. Storing at Amazon costs money.
Personal experience. If you're printing things and can't see a difference between Jayo and Elegoo, then I can't help you, and good for you. But to me the Jayo and Kingroon filaments are much less vibrant colors and are much pickier filaments when printing with them. More adhesion issues, more stringing. More scarring from support removal. Maybe that's a me issue, I'm still relatively new to printing. For me it's been worth the extra $1-2/roll to get filaments that I'm much happier with. They do have some colors that are fine, but to me a lot of them don't look very good. And I try not to paint or do a lot of post processing, so again that's important to me. That's why I called them inferior.

If you picked the wrong color, that does not mean the product is inferior.

Yes, it's a "me" issue. That is noting against you. PLA is the most forgiving filament to print with.

That is not the filament being inferior. It's just a color choice and settings issue. I've used abut 4 type of printer over the past who knows how many years. Second to last is a CR10S-Pro but then I bought a Bambu X1 Carbon. I still have the CR printer (for the larger bed) but I've seriously not touched it in about 3 years. I just hit a few buttons on the Bambu and it works perfectly. Other printers are just too finicky.

It's not the brand of the filament.

No, not me picking the wrong colors. The colors being off. Their standard red comes out pink. They are all MUCH more dull. Weird too, because it looks red on the roll.Ok, you're saying it's a me issue, but the Elegoo prints beautifully and the Jayo doesn't with no interference from me, that actually seems like a filament issue again. And yes, I've also had 4 different printers over the past 2 years. One older one that was terrible and I wouldn't fault the filament for that one. 2 Bambus and a Snapmaker U1. Like you said, mostly print and play. Great machines. The Bambus struggled with the Jayo and Kingroon, so again, seems to be a filament issue, not a printer issue.I'm glad they're working for you. Maybe I got a bad batch? Bought a multi pack and several rolls have been inferior. To the point that if I'm printing something that I care about color or supports and stringing could be an issue, I am using a different brand. I'm sure once I run out of other rolls and see that Jayo for super cheap again I'll give them another shot, but for now it's just not worth the hassle for me when everything else prints so smoothly

Big fan of Elegoo PLA filament and bought this 4-pack of PLA PRO when it was on sale last time but it seems to have much worse bed adhesion than other filament's I've used (including Elegoo regular PLA). Not going to buy it again for that reason, even though I'm officially out of black PLA and need to buy more.

The burgundy does look great. Are you buying individual rolls or packs? I want to try some in the burgundy but would like to avoid paying $18/kg.

I usually wait for their buy 4 get 1 or buy 7 get 3 deals which helps with the cost - those are usually mix & match so it doesn't all have to be the same filament. Also when ebay runs their 20% off coupons, it stacks with promotions on the listing (buy x get x free).
