  • To qualify for the $300 discount, you need to do all of the following:
    • Purchase the device or currently be in a group plan with the purchaser.
    • Activate the device on a new Unlimited Premium plan (data-only SIMs do not qualify) within 30 days of the shipment confirmation.
    • Remain active and in good standing on Fi for 120 consecutive days. Pausing, changing, or suspending the account will void the promotion. You must remain on the Unlimited Premium plan.

I get a new phone about every other year and never pay more than about 200 bucks after trade in. No other network has those kind of prices and the reason I left T-Mobile is because they would not give me any phone deals on my existing grandfather plan

Can you help me understand this deal please? If I do all 3 things above (currently not on FI at all, travelling to Canada, Mexico and Germany on an annual basis and used ATT for Canada and Mexico and a local SIM for Germany as of now). I'd pay $699 up front, then I'd get $699 over the next 24 months as bill credits and another $240 over the next 24 months as bill credits.
For the Unlimited Premium (only have 1 line) I'd usually pay $65 monthly.
With all the bill credits I'd pay $699 for the phone up front, but then only around $25 for the plan for the next two years?
Is this working with the 256 as well (obviously paying more per month) and would I get even more discount for trading in my Pixel 8?

So my math is $180 per year for service... not as prioritized, that is $15.00 per month (+tax & fees). So... let's pertend.... $65 - $10 - $15 = money left for a phone... = $40/mnth for a phone... two years... that is $960.00. I just feel I could do better. AND the Pixel 11 is RIGHT AROUND the corner.

Don't get me wrong... Pixel service is the best. But Mint Mobile is good enough for me.

That makes flexible $30 for 1gb. Seems kinda silly when essentials is only $5 more for 30gb of data unless you never leave your house and/or turn off data.

This is true. My main point was that any plan qualifies for the device promos, there isn't even a requirement for any Unlimited plan.

There's a breakeven point at 3 lines where Flexible with 1GB data per line costs the same as Unlimited Essentials. $50 for 3 lines Flexible, $80 for 3 lines Unlimited Essentials.

The difference gets even closer after that. For 4-6 lines, it's cheaper to get Unlimited Essentials than Flexible with only 1GB used per line. At 6 lines, it's $95 vs. $135. You'd only have to use 4 GB combined to break even.
