Nitro Tech is a whey blend that delivers 30 grams of protein per serving, but the deal math looks better on larger tubs and with Subscribe and Save. The 4 pound size is described as about 39 servings, while the listing image appears to show the smaller 2 pound panel. Taste and mixability are a concern, with reports of gritty texture and chewy chunks, and the formula is also called out as a concentrate and isolate blend rather than a true isolate. A dependable option if the price and flavor work for you.
Lifters who want a cheaper protein shake with added creatine, because the 4-pound tub can work out to a lower per-serving cost than comparable whey options.
Yes, the lower price can require Subscribe & Save, and the coupon may not apply without it. Some orders also show the promotion working only after switching flavors or stacking coupons.
At the listed price, the 4 lb tub works out to about $0.83 per serving, while the 5 lb version can be about $0.58 per serving with Subscribe & Save. That makes the larger tub the better value if the pricing is available.
It can be gritty and slow to blend, and some batches leave chewy or gooey chunks if not mixed long enough. Flavor feedback also varies by version, with some shoppers preferring Muscletech over other brands and others finding it unpleasant.
It is a blend of whey concentrate and whey isolate, not a true isolate. That means it is less processed than a pure isolate and may have more calories and cholesterol than a cleaner isolate formula.
I bought the 5lb gold. Better protein and just a few dollar more expensive
ON protein USED to be better. Now it's flavorless cardboard water. Absolutely disgusting. I bought some recently after not having bought any for years, it's MUCH different than it used to be. I returned it, disgusted by everything about it.
Muscletech is much richer and way better flavor, a little worse macro wise but far superior overall.
This is a combination of whey concentrate and whey isolate - not a true isolate. A true isolate would have low calories, high protein, and little to no cholesterol as it is further processed to remove the crap. With that said, "B082DMKC2V" is also part of this deal, is a true isolate, and a much better deal that this one; it costs about $1/serving. No deals on Hydrolysate.
23% daily cholesterol vs 28. Better but not great. For reference a quarter pounder with cheese is 32%.

Not sure what I did but I clicked over to the Strawberry flavor and got it for $19.99. I think I got two coupons applied.

I'm sure the macros aren't great but I eat pretty lean. Everyone knows protein is ridiculously expensive, and this is a great price for 4lb.
When I gold standard whey protein 10 pounds about a year ago for $100 I thought it was kind of a ridiculous price. Now 5 pounds is near that price… no thanks, no more protein powder for me

It is pretty high in cholesterol. Even the good stuff isn't great.

I got 5 pound of Nutricost Casein Unflavored for $55 in the beginning of August. "Deals" are still to be found.
