I'm not one to rail against MSG in general, but in a box of pasta with dehydrated tomato sauce?

This seems like a product either aimed at being portable or super quick. I wouldn't use this regularly as part of prepared meals. A box of pasta and a cheap jar of sauce will cost you less, be better for you and taste better.

Im not sure substituting cheap with cheap makes something more nutritional or taste better. (maybe your pallet is different than others)

even if you got a box of pasta and a can of sauce for $2, thats maybe 2 meals. So your math doesnt really add up.

Walmart $1.24 box of spaghetti, $.44 for a 5.5OZ can of sauce. $1.68 for 2 servings or $.84 for 1 serving.

this is $.65 a package.

First off any jarred sauce you get will be absent the preservative ingredients found here, and the vast majority won't have msg. They will almost certainly be healthier.

Cost? This 24 oz jar of Walmart sauce is 1.75.

Box of pasta:

Combined 3 dollars. Healthier, almost certainly tastes better cheaper.
