This Metabo HPT 18 gauge cordless brad nailer kit stands out as a compact, lighter version of the newer signature model, with the extra 2.0Ah battery making the bundle more appealing. The nailer is described as reliable for years without misfires, and the smaller, lighter design should help in tight spaces and trim work like moulding or dresser drawers. Pricing context puts it ahead of similar offers at Amazon and Lowe's, especially since extra Metabo batteries are usually pricey. The main catch is the shipping math on the bonus battery, which can push the effective total up a bit unless the cart is adjusted. A strong value if you want a portable brad nailer kit with battery backup.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. The kit is described as a strong buy because the included extra 2.0Ah battery adds value, and comparable pricing is usually around $169 at Lowe's or about $199 on sale elsewhere. The bonus battery can also make the effective total about $165.49 after shipping, still below typical sale pricing.
Yes. It is the NT1850DFTM, not the older NT1850DG/NT1850DGM spring nailer or the older BF-era 18-gauge model. The NT1850DFTM is described as 30% more compact and 31% lighter, which helps in tight spaces.
Yes. It is recommended for trim moulding and dresser-drawer work, and long-term owners report no misfires or failures. It is also described as lighter than Milwaukee's equivalent, which helps with maneuverability.
Yes, if the cart total stays under $200, the bonus battery adds $6.49 shipping. Adding another item to reach $199 can trigger free shipping, or removing the bonus battery avoids that charge.
The included extra battery is valuable because replacement Metabo HPT batteries can be pricey and do not go on sale often. That said, 2.0Ah 18V batteries are also described as commonly available around $25, so pricing depends on the exact battery and platform.

This looks like a good deal with the extra battery, even with the shipping.

$159 is a screaming deal on this. I don't know why the other poster said Metabo HPT batteries are expensive, they're some of the cheapest ones out there, the 2.0ah 18v can be found for $25 pretty regularly (and are liberally sprinkled in kits) and Acme had the Multivolts on sale earlier this week. (They might be thinking of German Metabo, which is confusingly a different platform, this is Hitachi Power Tools.)
The 200psi pancake air compressor (which is noticeably nicer than other 6gal pancakes) is $199-20=$179 (it goes on sale at Lowes for $169 somewhat often), but throw a $2 fitting or some nails in and now it's $151, which is a great deal.
The narrow crown stapler is $269-50 =$219, but if you can find something else in the $30s range from the sale to throw in (like a saw blade) you basically get the extra for free. (E: I ended up adding the $89 multitool and getting both and the extra battery for $283)
Also paypal is showing 3% back for Acme purchases right now.
