This. The initial pushback will be strong but over time, people just accept the new normal and find some other thing to be mad about. I wouldn't deny myself the pleasure of playing an awesome game just because it's digital only.
I won't. If I wanted digital I would PC game, which is what I'll do. PC games are cheaper, so why would I pay more to play them on an inferior console?

Lol. At least you're willing to admit that you're the problem that helps support companies ending physical ownership.

Are these more akin to the original (from Sega CD)? I loved Lunar 1, tried to play the "remaster" from PSX and it just didnt feel the same. The original music was some of the best music from that era and I think it is still excellent today

Gameplay & Mechanics

Sega CD: Features random battle encounters, different world/dungeon layouts, and has Alex inherently capable of using magic. It is generally considered a harder, more traditional 1990s JRPG.
HD Remaster: Uses fixed/visible enemy encounters on the map (so you can avoid fights), level-based bosses, and features a more balanced, non-magical Alex. It includes highly requested quality-of-life additions like a toggleable battle speed to fast-forward combat and vastly improved inventory management.

Visuals & Audio

Sega CD: Presents standard 16-bit 2D graphics with compressed, highly iconic CD-quality music and original voice acting.
HD Remaster: Offers upscaled and cleaned-up 16:9 widescreen gameplay alongside redrawn anime cutscenes. It includes an all-new English voiceover, though purists can switch back to "Classic Mode" (4:3 aspect ratio, original pixel graphics).

Might be good time to pick up with all this physical media removed madness
True, though so far that's just PlayStation, and not until January 2028.

But only once they start doing it, not now. You'll give in.
This, most gamers are impulsive idiots with their credit cards. They've put up with so much, for so long. Can rarely stick to their guns.
