My brother's LG compressor died right after the 3-year mark.

Maybe I got lucky but my french door with freezer on the bottom LG was purchased as a Home Depot floor model in 2009. Zero issues after 17 years.
Ours broke 4 times in the first 2 years, and LG finally bought it back after I relentlessly attacked them on social media over the debacle. They even sent me a nasty letter saying I was being too nasty on social media....imagine that, a $3k fridge that keeps breaking and ruining food and I am being unrealistic?
Even the repair guy gave up and refused to come back out because he said LG was refusing to pay him for more visits...it was a nightmare. LG front-load washer/dryers are OK, but those fridges are a hot mess.

I just bought a Samsung Bespoke 2 weeks ago for $1250 when my 20-y-o broke. https://www.samsung.com/us/refrig...b6200q
I though I got the best deal of the year, but now this LG for $650???
Before I bought the Samsung through Perks@Work, I looked through Perks@Work's Samsung, LG, Whirpool, Frigidaire, Electrolux partner stores. I literally had my eyes on this specific LG because the Samsung was OOS. I was almost going to pull trigger on this LG for $1259! But then the Samsung Bespoke came back in stock and I bought it immediately.
A lot of ppl trash Samsung and LG fridges. Yes, the older gen Samsung and LG were the worst. I mean who puts ice makers in the fridge?
For LG, as one of the users in the thread did, I also did extensive research on this particular model as I was almost buying it. This one is at the lowest end of LG's 4-door French doors, but it did fix the compressor and ice maker problem. But of course, you might get a lemon though.
For Samsung, there are 2 generations of Bespoke. Samsung doesn't distinguish between them, and it manufactures both 1st and 2nd. but yes, Bespoke does have 2 gens. The 1st gen still had some quality issue. But the 2nd gen Bespoke is absolutely flawless. Usually latest gen Bespoke doesn't have a logo emblem on the top right corner. And, read the reviews. If earliest reviews happened around 3 years ago, it's the 2nd gen.
BTW, this one's lower French door doesn't have lighting, if that's an inconvenience for older ppl...
Does this have to have Internet??
