I was tempted to take the $450 buyout they offered me. I am paying $399 for the labor charge, \ but if I get another 5 years out of this one, I will call it a win. Would I purchase another LG fridge? Probably not, the repair man (who came out to diagnosis the problem) said in his opinion, Whirlpool made the most reliable fridge. I asked about Bosch and he said they don't repair as many because people don't own as many. I would go with Buyer beware and buy/get as much warranty protection as possible.

Found out that if you simply have a HULU account, you can sign up to be a LG partner store member. I signed up using EDU (through id.me) and also created a second account using HULU after the fact.

Some people have done free trials on hulu just to sign up for the LG partner store. YMMV
The screenshot I posted says "Not available in Florida" thus why you probably don't see the option displayed.
The LG Partner Store is different from the main LG store, so I wouldn't hold my breath if the Cap1 offer didn't state it specifically in their terms and conditions.
EDIT: Just checked and I see separate offers for LG Electronics & LG Partner Store in Cap1 offers, so I don't think it will work.
