So much better than the battery ones for a car. The li-ion batteries in them are the cheapest rebins, and the get ruined by heat and cold.

These last forever.

I agree, other than them not being as simple to use anywhere! And these blow your vehicle's accessory fuses sometimes... Keep some spare fuses handy.

I have both styles. No real need to keep an inflator only in my vehicles. I don't have any slow leaks, and I have monitors to show me the PSI for all tires. Not all vehicles have that feature, though.

I like having a combination jump starter/inflator in vehicles, or just a jump starter. You shouldn't need an inflator on the road for topping off tires now and then unless you have a leak that you aren't repairing for some period of time.

I caught a screw in a tire, but it took a few days to get it taken care of, so a battery-powered inflator came in very handy. As cheap as they have become now, everyone should have one. Both styles have their pros and cons.

I have a different style 12v dc air compressor from the same brand that I keep in my truck to inflate the air bags when Im towing. Works great.
Gonna get one of these to throw into the commuter car.
(Get yourself a cheap tire plug kit to go with)

My understanding is the amp draw is higher when the vehicle is off and the available voltage is lower. How common is it for one of these DC tire inflators to blow an accessory fuse when used with the vehicle running?

These little tire inflators are great. I've never blow a fuse using one.
