Natural wood (MDF) is like the "Natural flavors " in USA foods.

$40 is expensive. Lowest I've seen were $30, just wait.

I think these are $30 in warehouse, but only walnut color is available at my local warehouse.

More like blended Natural Wood pulp covered with a cheap laminate that tries to look like wood. But you get what you pay for.

Wait for it to go to $35. Costco usually mark these down from 50 -> 40 -> 34.99.

Are these sound-absorbing panels actually effective for a home theater room?

From reviews online mostly I have seen for more office scenarios and seem to work well. Not sure how much for a full movie room setup though. Probably a little bit

They're $30 in-store for me at one location but "low stock" and only in Walnut color
